Hey guys I won’t be posting on this blog as often as I did before. I’m devoting a lot of time towards developing VX2TV so i’ll be producing a lot of content for them. Don’t worry it will still be photography content in the form of videos for the VX2TV YouTube channel. I’m pretty excited about this new chapter in my life. I’m really pumped to be building up my brand through VX2TV on YouTube.
If you want to see my videos on VX2TV’s webpage check out the link below. See you all there.
And don’t worry I will still be here working as a photographer for hire and checking my messages. I’m still available to be booked for work any time.
I'm finally upgrading my vlogging camera from the Canon G7X mkII to the Panasonic Lumix G9. I did a lot of research on cameras and the Lumix G9 seemed to be the best bang for the buck in a light weight package with Panasonic's best face tracking technology to date. I was close to going with the GH5 but from what I was hearing from other people the G9 has better face tracing and is lighter. Those are the only two reasons I went for the G9.
Now time to test this camera out and see what I can do with it. I'm pleased to say that the quality of my vlogs going forward will be a lot better quality.
In this mini two part series I unbox the Lumix G9, battery grip, Lumix G 25mm f1.7, Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f4 and Rode Video Micro. Than I do a quick test with the mic and Lumix G9 against the Canon EOS R. Thanks for watching.
Coming soon i’ll do some vlogging test where I put the Canon EOS R up against the Lumix G9 to see which camera is better in which situation.
Thanks for watching. If you have any questions leave them in the video comments on YouTube and i’ll get back to you with my answers as soon as I can.
Vasko Obscura: Hey people of the internet welcome to this vlog series exploring microstock in 2019. I’m going to be exploring the world of stock photography from a fresh perspective now that I’ve been out of the game for nine years. I am making a series of videos documenting my return to stock photography while at the same time using my experience in the industry to create tutorial videos for those of you looking to get into the industry. I’ll be posing all the videos in this series on this blog post.
My goal is to create videos that you people of the internet find value in so if you have any suggestions or feedback please feel free to leave comments on the YouTube videos and i’ll respond.
I was a full time microstock shooter with iSockPhoto from 2005 till 2010-ish. It was my ticket into the photography world. I learned so much through producing stock photos. Not only was shooting stock photography a great way to learn how to shoot photos but it also allowed me to build up a strong passive income stream. Even after I stopped shooting stock photos I was still generating $4000 a month from photo sales. However nothing lasts forever and that income stream has dwindled to $200 a month. I still find it amazing that I’m generating any revenue from work I did 9 years ago. This brings me to the reason I’m getting back into microstock photography. Passive income is a great way to supplement your income and I plan on building up a profitable portfolio again. So come join me on this six month adventure back into the world of microstock and hopefully I can inspire some of you out there to get into microstock too.
If you find value in the videos i’m producing please subscribe to my YouTube channel I would really appreciate it. You can also find me on Instagram @vaskoobscura and Twitter @vaskoobscura as well.

Studio V Photography: Hey guys welcome to the vlog. Here are the photos of Rock N’ Roll babe Molly Rennick in her Gold Bikini. We shot these in the the Dominican Republic on the VX2TV Beach Party trip. It was an awesome trip had an awesome time you can check out more video from the trip on the VX2TV YouTube channel.
These shots are from my very first photo shoot with the Canon EOS R. I had pre-ordered the camera and it arrived two days before I took off for the Dominican Republic. I brought it down with me fingers crossed and decided to test it out with Molly. I shot these with no poloraizer or ND filter. I wanted to see how the camera handled the high contrast of the sunset behind the model with no help. Also these images were shot in full rez jpg and edited in Photoshop. Overall I have to say i’m pretty happy with the results considering it was just jpg. Stay tuned more hot photo shoots from the VX2TV Beach party coming soon.
My review video of the Canon EOS R after one week of shooting with the camera.

Studio V Photography: Got some new toys to play with. It's finally here. Canon's first step into the full frame mirrorless game. The EOS R. In this video I get my hands on the EOS R for the first time and you get to see my first unfiltered reactions as I unbox the camera and turn it on for the first time.
I got a call from my camera guy saying that the store has received the shipment of EOS R cameras BUT he cant sell me one till October 9th. oh man what a tease. I feel like a kid at Christmas. You can see the gifts under the tree but you can't open them yet.
Vasko Obscura: OMG I made it to 100 Vlogs that's pretty crazy thinking back on things now. I'm really proud of that fact that I've stuck to it for 100 vlogs. I'm not going to lie there were times when I questioned if this was the best use of my time, but I really enjoyed the process and the learning that came with making YouTube videos. I'm also really greatful to those of you who have commented and sent me emails to let me know that you have found value in the content I share. Thank you. Cheers to another 100 vlogs. In this vlog I give a quick update on the 5 big things happening in my photography world right now. I pre-ordered the Canon EOS R, I changed my name across all social media, I'm using Google more effectively for business and then I tease a little about an upcoming project called VX2TV and a trip to the Dominican Republic with a bunch of models to shoot content for VX2TV. Thanks for watching. I truly appreciate all the growing support from the YouTube community :)
Vasko Obscura: Hello fellow Canon photographers, if you’ve been on the fence about switching from the Canon system to the Sony system and you’re still unsure about which direction to go in this is the review you’ve been waiting for. I’ve been a Canon shooter for 14 years and I bought a Sony A7III in May 2018 with the hopes of using my Canon glass on the Sony camera as a full time professional photographer. In this review I share my opinions and experiences as a Canon shooter using the A7III as my daily go to camera. I talk more about my personal real world experiences in part 2.
Hope you find the review helpful.
Thanks for watching if you enjoyed the content please subscribe to my YouTube channel i’m actively trying to grow the channel and every subscription is appreciated.

Update: Passed the 3000 subscriber mark. Thank you guys and gals. Really appreciate it.
Vasko Obscura: Say hello to Karlie Vanessa Sal. She's a sexy Latina model with a strong attitude. Always so much fun to work with. Here are the photos from the YouTube video I posted. My initial creative direction when starting to work on these photos was to make them overexposed with a lot of chromatic aberration. My intention was to take the visual direction towards an over exposed disposable camera look. I've attached one image down below so you can see what I'm talking about. Initially I was happy with the overexposed/washed out look but being the type of person who is always experimenting I asked myself what the pictures would look like with a multiply layer over top. And BOOM I got this darker grittier looking image with deeper richer tones and a strange unique color tone. I loved the look so I applied the changes to all four images. If you have any questions post them on my YouTube videos in the comments and i'll get back to you.

The above video is an Instagram story from a photo shoot I did with VX2 Magazine cover model Karli Vanessa Sal earlier this summer. This is just some behind the scenes fun with a super awesome woman. I truly enjoy working with her. As you can see I take photography seriously but I keep my photo shoots lighthearted and fun. If you ask me photo shoots should be about having fun and expressing yourself and not about having a camera stuck in your face.
Here is a timelapse photo edit of a photo I shot with Karli Vanessa Sal earlier in the summer. In this video I talk about a few aspects of the photo edit process. I also drop a teaser about my trip to the Dominican Republic with a bunch of hot glamour models. I intend to bring all my YouTube subscribers with me through a daily vlog of the trip hopefully I don't get distracted. I'm so excited to get down there and shoot a bunch of sexy content.
Studio V Photography: This is an art piece I call Deja Vu. After watching it you’ll see why. I’m just learning how to use primer and I messed around with the filters for a few hours to create this. I really love the gritty retro-ish mysterious feel to the video. I didn’t get the exact effect I wanted but i’m happy with the results. Hopefully I can keep getting better and more creative with video editing as create more. This was shot with a Sony A7III Metabobes 5th gen adapter and a Canon 24-70mm f2.8L.
If you want to see the behind the scenes vlog where I shot this check out “Sony A7III Video & Photo Test With Canon Lenses Part 2 (Vlog 96)” I made the video age restricted just to be safe. There is a lot of censoring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Pnf...
Studio V Photography Toronto Glamour Photographer. Hey guys so here are two vlogs from my YouTube channel where I give a few opinions my my experience shooting with the Sony A7 III plus the Metabones adapter with the Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L and the EF 24-70mm f2.8 L.
I'm really enjoying the Sony A7III so far but the more I use it the more I find little things that bother me about the the camera. First and probably the biggest issue I have with the SOny camera is the colour science. The colours just seem to be off. The skin tones of models is just off. And the camera's ability to adjust the colour temperature accurately when in AWB mode and moving between sunlight and shade seems to be really strange. You can see in the first video when I shoot Jisel Lynn in the shade and then in full sun her skin tone changes. I also test video in the first video. I'm not a videographer but from what I've been able to figure out the auto focus does not work well at all with the adapted lenses. Auto focus also seems to have issues from time to time when shooting stills but that problem can quickly be fixed by switching the camera on and off. However, if you are planning on shooting live events with adapted lenses it might not be the best especially if you are shooting an event like a wedding when you CAN'T MISS shots like the first kiss.
This is just a basic review of my experience so far. I'll be making a video with a full review soon.
If you want to see more of my photos please follow me on Instagram. @Studiov14
Studio V Photography. Squarespace is limiting me on the size of the file I can upload. So I've uploaded image below in the larges file size they'll let me upload them at. Just a note because someone thought that the lens had issues because of the chromatic aberration in the shots. That effect was added on purpose and these images are photoshoped. I wanted to give you guys some shots of edited images so you can see what is possible. As I Said in the vlog the Canon lens on the Sony A7III is awesome sharp. Much sharper than than the same lens on my 5DmkIII. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message back in the comments on YouTube and i'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Back to the YouTube Video. Keep in mind there is an age restriction on the video so I don't know if everybody can see it or if you need a YouTube account to see the video.
Studio V Photography. Hey guys exciting news. I did my first photo shoot slash lens test with the Sony A7III with my Canon lenses. I'm using the Metabones 5th generation adapter with the Sony A7III. Just thought I'd put that out there as I'm sure a lot of you will be asking me about that. The YouTube videos where I explore Canon lenses on a Sony camera are linked below.
My first impressions are very positive. The images out of the Sony A7III are very sharp and clean right out of camera. It doesn't hurt either that my model, Bella Ricchi, is stunning. I think she makes the photos look better. lol. On a more serious note the only problem I've noticed with the camera lens combination so far is an inability to focus at times. Every now an then the focus would stop working completely and I would have to switch the camera on and off. After that restart the camera lens combo would work normally again. Another thing to note is that the focus with Canon lenses on the Sony A7III is a touch slower than Canon lenses on a Canon camera and that is totally understandable.
Thanks for reading, this is all for now. I'll make more videos and vlog posts as I learn more about the camera.
In this video I do a quick test with the Canon EF 300mm f2.8 L on the Sony A7III with the Metabones adapter to see how sharp the images are. I'd say they came out really sharp.
A lot of reviews talk about how the Sony A7III does not have a time laps mode so I wanted to make a quick video that shows how to achieve the time laps look with the Sony using the S&Q settings. It's very simple. Just open your S&Q settings in the menu and then select 1 frame per second. Turn the dial at the top of your camera to "S&Q" than adjust your exposure and hit the record button. All done.
A few YouTubers messaged me after my last video with questions about how to setup the A7III for use with Canon lenses so that auto focus works. I'm no expert on the subject but here is a little video that hopefully helps you setup your cameras.
Studio V Photography. Hey guys, so I finally got fed up with waiting for Canon to come up with an answer to these awesome mirror-less cameras that are taking over the market. Feels like Canon got complacent and they're going to see a lot of users like me switch to a Sony body. I got a Sony A7 III with a Metabones adapter (5th gen) and in this video i'm trying them out for the first time and giving you my thoughts. I didn't do any software updates. Everything is right out of box and that Metabones adapter works amazing. Spot focus and lock as well as eye auto focus work without any problems. Very happy so far. I'll make another video about the Sony body with Canon lenses once I have a little more time with the setup.
Hey guys, here is the video you Canon shooters were waiting for. In this video I test all my Canon glass on the Sony A7III with the fifth generation Metabones adapter. I have to say I’m pretty impressed with this Canon glass on a Sony body setup. It’s not perfect but it is definitely very usable. One thing I didn’t do in this video is test autofocus in low light conditions. My model had to take off but I will be trying that in an upcoming video soon.
