My New Vlogging Camera Panasonic Lumix G9

I'm finally upgrading my vlogging camera from the Canon G7X mkII to the Panasonic Lumix G9. I did a lot of research on cameras and the Lumix G9 seemed to be the best bang for the buck in a light weight package with Panasonic's best face tracking technology to date. I was close to going with the GH5 but from what I was hearing from other people the G9 has better face tracing and is lighter. Those are the only two reasons I went for the G9.

Now time to test this camera out and see what I can do with it. I'm pleased to say that the quality of my vlogs going forward will be a lot better quality.

In this mini two part series I unbox the Lumix G9, battery grip, Lumix G 25mm f1.7, Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f4 and Rode Video Micro. Than I do a quick test with the mic and Lumix G9 against the Canon EOS R. Thanks for watching.

Coming soon i’ll do some vlogging test where I put the Canon EOS R up against the Lumix G9 to see which camera is better in which situation.

Thanks for watching. If you have any questions leave them in the video comments on YouTube and i’ll get back to you with my answers as soon as I can.

Cheers.

First Shoot with the Canon EOS R

Studio V Photography: Hey guys welcome to the vlog. Here are the photos of Rock N’ Roll babe Molly Rennick in her Gold Bikini. We shot these in the the Dominican Republic on the VX2TV Beach Party trip. It was an awesome trip had an awesome time you can check out more video from the trip on the VX2TV YouTube channel.

These shots are from my very first photo shoot with the Canon EOS R. I had pre-ordered the camera and it arrived two days before I took off for the Dominican Republic. I brought it down with me fingers crossed and decided to test it out with Molly. I shot these with no poloraizer or ND filter. I wanted to see how the camera handled the high contrast of the sunset behind the model with no help. Also these images were shot in full rez jpg and edited in Photoshop. Overall I have to say i’m pretty happy with the results considering it was just jpg. Stay tuned more hot photo shoots from the VX2TV Beach party coming soon.

My review video of the Canon EOS R after one week of shooting with the camera.

Vlog on VX2TV featuring the Molly Rennick Gold Bikini Shoot.

Timelaps Edit Jisel Lynn

Studio V Photography: Here is a new video where I do a timelaps Photoshop edit of a photo I shot with Jisel Lynn. This artistic photo was shot with a Sony A7III with a Metabones adapter and a Canon EF 24 - 70mm f2.8 L. Stay tuned this is just a teaser. Full pictorial feature will be published in an upcoming issue of VX2 Magazine. :)

Vlog 100!

Vasko Obscura: OMG I made it to 100 Vlogs that's pretty crazy thinking back on things now. I'm really proud of that fact that I've stuck to it for 100 vlogs. I'm not going to lie there were times when I questioned if this was the best use of my time, but I really enjoyed the process and the learning that came with making YouTube videos. I'm also really greatful to those of you who have commented and sent me emails to let me know that you have found value in the content I share. Thank you. Cheers to another 100 vlogs. In this vlog I give a quick update on the 5 big things happening in my photography world right now. I pre-ordered the Canon EOS R, I changed my name across all social media, I'm using Google more effectively for business and then I tease a little about an upcoming project called VX2TV and a trip to the Dominican Republic with a bunch of models to shoot content for VX2TV. Thanks for watching. I truly appreciate all the growing support from the YouTube community :)

New YouTube Header Image

Vasko Obscura: Inspired by the header photo I made for the new Patreon page I decided it was time to update the Studio V Photography header I had on my YouTube channel. It was getting a bit tied. After three years of just my logo on a grey background it was time for change. I really like the way this new header tells a better story about what I do and how long I’ve been doing it. Obviously I’ve been working as a glamour photographer for a long time and I feel this image does a better job at conveying that thought to the viewer. On the down side the image is a bit busy. Maybe that is a bad thing but for now i’m sticking with it. If you want to check out the YouTube channel hit the link below.

Studio V Photography on Patreon

Vasko Obscura: Here we go guys and gals Studio V Photography is now on Patreon. Being a creative isn’t always easy. Most of us creatives don’t have a 9-to-5 so we have to hustle all the time to create a steady income. Patreon is great because it connects us to another revenue stream provided by those of you who appreciate us the most. Our fans.

I’m totally new to Patreon but I can see the potential not only for myself but also as a platform through which I can give back to those of you who appreciate what I do the most. I’m working on some reward ideas for different pledge levels. From free printed T-Shirts and mugs to live streams of hot photos shoots to online tutorials to maybe even letting someone come see a sexy photo shoot happening in person. I’ve got a bunch of idea. I figure my fans fall into two big groups. Those who love photos of beautiful woman and those who want to learn how to shoot photos of beautiful woman. So i’ll try to be mindful of those two perspectives.

Thanks for reading and if you want to help me out though Patreon click on the link or image below.

Canon Shooter reviews Sony A7III

Vasko Obscura: Hello fellow Canon photographers, if you’ve been on the fence about switching from the Canon system to the Sony system and you’re still unsure about which direction to go in this is the review you’ve been waiting for. I’ve been a Canon shooter for 14 years and I bought a Sony A7III in May 2018 with the hopes of using my Canon glass on the Sony camera as a full time professional photographer. In this review I share my opinions and experiences as a Canon shooter using the A7III as my daily go to camera. I talk more about my personal real world experiences in part 2.

Hope you find the review helpful.

Thanks for watching if you enjoyed the content please subscribe to my YouTube channel i’m actively trying to grow the channel and every subscription is appreciated.

Studio V Photography Toronto Glamour Photographer. Hey guys so here are two vlogs from my YouTube channel where I give a few opinions my my experience shooting with the Sony A7 III plus the Metabones adapter with the Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L and the EF 24-70mm f2.8 L.

I'm really enjoying the Sony A7III so far but the more I use it the more I find little things that bother me about the the camera. First and probably the biggest issue I have with the SOny camera is the colour science. The colours just seem to be off. The skin tones of models is just off. And the camera's ability to adjust the colour temperature accurately when in AWB mode and moving between sunlight and shade seems to be really strange. You can see in the first video when I shoot Jisel Lynn in the shade and then in full sun her skin tone changes. I also test video in the first video. I'm not a videographer but from what I've been able to figure out the auto focus does not work well at all with the adapted lenses. Auto focus also seems to have issues from time to time when shooting stills but that problem can quickly be fixed by switching the camera on and off. However, if you are planning on shooting live events with adapted lenses it might not be the best especially if you are shooting an event like a wedding when you CAN'T MISS shots like the first kiss.

This is just a basic review of my experience so far. I'll be making a video with a full review soon.

Jisel Lynn & Kyla Belle Sample Images

Studio V Photography. Squarespace is limiting me on the size of the file I can upload.  So I've uploaded image below in the larges file size they'll let me upload them at. Just a note because someone thought that the lens had issues because of the chromatic aberration in the shots. That effect was added on purpose and these images are photoshoped. I wanted to give you guys some shots of edited images so you can see what is possible. As I Said in the vlog the Canon lens on the Sony A7III is awesome sharp. Much sharper than than the same lens on my 5DmkIII. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message back in the comments on YouTube and i'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Back to the YouTube Video. Keep in mind there is an age restriction on the video so I don't know if everybody can see it or if you need a YouTube account to see the video.

Sony A7III with Canon Lenses Photo Review

Studio V Photography. Hey guys exciting news. I did my first photo shoot slash lens test with the Sony A7III with my Canon lenses. I'm using the Metabones 5th generation adapter with the Sony A7III. Just thought I'd put that out there as I'm sure a lot of you will be asking me about that. The YouTube videos where I explore Canon lenses on a Sony camera are linked below.

My first impressions are very positive. The images out of the Sony A7III are very sharp and clean right out of camera. It doesn't hurt either that my model, Bella Ricchi, is stunning. I think she makes the photos look better. lol. On a more serious note the only problem I've noticed with the camera lens combination so far is an inability to focus at times. Every now an then the focus would stop working completely and I would have to switch the camera on and off. After that restart the camera lens combo would work normally again. Another thing to note is that the focus with Canon lenses on the Sony A7III is a touch slower than Canon lenses on a Canon camera and that is totally understandable.

Vlog 94

Vlog 95

Thanks for reading, this is all for now. I'll make more videos and vlog posts as I learn more about the camera.

In this video I do a quick test with the Canon EF 300mm f2.8 L on the Sony A7III with the Metabones adapter to see how sharp the images are. I'd say they came out really sharp.

A lot of reviews talk about how the Sony A7III does not have a time laps mode so I wanted to make a quick video that shows how to achieve the time laps look with the Sony using the S&Q settings. It's very simple. Just open your S&Q settings in the menu and then select 1 frame per second. Turn the dial at the top of your camera to "S&Q" than adjust your exposure and hit the record button. All done.

A few YouTubers messaged me after my last video with questions about how to setup the A7III for use with Canon lenses so that auto focus works. I'm no expert on the subject but here is a little video that hopefully helps you setup your cameras.

Ashley Photo Shoot & Image Edit

Studio V Photography Toronto Glamour Photographer. Hey guys hope you're all having an awesome day. Here are two vlogs from my YouTube channel. Alright everyone exciting news!!! I am on vlog 68 and currently working on vlog 69! What an accomplishment if I can say so myself. What started off as a little project for fun has turned into something that I really enjoy doing. Honestly I put more time and effort into making vlogs than I do in keeping up this blog. So if you want to keep up to date with what is happening with Studio V Photography please go subscribe to my YouTube channel and watch all the behind the scenes fun.

I post videos showing behind the scenes footage from both my Studio V Photography business and Vasko Photography business. So you'll get to see a little bit of everything. I'll be heading down to Miami soon on a photo trip with VX2 Magazine and i'll be taking the vloging camera with me. Oh and when you check out my YouTube Channel don't for get to give it a thumbs up to help with rankings. That would be totally appreciated.

Cheers!!!

So I might have started vlogging

Soooooo, I kinda, maybe, sorta', possibly could have, at some point, started vlogginggggg. If you look real close, it looks like some vlogs have popped up on my Youtube channel.

I've been toying around with different ideas for the Studio V Photography YouTube channel and perhaps i'm still experimenting with ideas. I wrote down all the things I want to achieve with my YouTube channel and out of all the ideas i've experimented with vlogging appears to be the one. The idea of vlogging wasn't even on my radar till recently. Now I'm really into the idea. It's going to be a fun experience sharing my photography world with all of you. I'm really looking forward to the learning curve. I know almost nothing about video editing so my videos are probably gonna be super basic for the time being. But don't worry, I've got a good eye and it's only a matter of time before my technical skills catch up to my creative vision.

In my first vlog I open up about why my photography business has started slowing down. 2013 to 2015 had been a really trying period in the life and times of me. A lot of different factors all came together to create a perfect storm that took the wind out of my sails. Rather than being down about things I've decided that this is the perfect opportunity to start vlogging. I'm going to bring all of you with me on my journey to rebuild my brands to where they were in 2012 and then take them up to the next level. I have the knowledge, I know how to run a prosperous business, I have the motivation, I have everything I need to be successful again. So I invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel and come with me as I rebuild my business and have a ton of exciting adventures along the way. As of today I have 184 subscribers. I want to grow that number to 1000 by the end of the year.

Here is a link to my Youtube Channel. Go check it out and hit the subscribe button. I'd really appreciate it.

First 11 Quickie Videos

As you know I've been working on building up my YouTube Channel. It's been slow so far because time is always hard to find this time of year. With that being said I'm excited about the video's I've managed to get up there so far. Got a lot of content shot i'll probably get to editing that stuff when things start to slow down in the fall. Gees I don't want to think about the fall yet. Summer just started. lol. For now enjoy these first 11 quickie videos.

STUDIO V TV

Alright people it brings me great pleasure to announce STUDIO V TV. Time to start getting excited!!!!!!

Above is my little intro video for the STUDIO V TV Youtube channel. Click on it, like it, subscribe! This is all part of the master plan to take Studio V and make it a multimedia entity out there on the interweb. Things change fast and I realized I cant get caught flat footed in this digital age. Markets shift, trends shift, technology continues to advance and create new fads and opportunities. The future of photography is gonna be a different world than the one we photographers grew up with. Being a straight up photographer might become a thing of the past very soon. Our future is multimedia production. This is an interesting topic i'll save this thought for another blog post. I'm getting way off topic.

Back on track. Welcome to Studio V TV. For now i'm populating the channel with fast paced behind the scenes "Quickie" videos. In the future expect to see a series of several shows with ongoing themes and story lines. I really don't have a clue what i'm doing or how YouTube or video editing for that matter works. I have an idea and i'm running with it and I'll learn what I need to learn along the way. If I can give any of you advice it's that the race is not always won by the best prepared. It's more often than not won by those who take action. Action always leads to progress and it's progress that wins you that race. So for now Studio V TV is as they say, a work in progress.

Enjoy

Studio V is now on YouTube

So I finally setup an official Studio V YouTube Channel. I hope to be posting a lot more videos over the coming months. I've put together a little action plan for video production so I have an idea of where I want to go and how I want to get there.

I started things off with a little promo video I made with a phone app called Magisto. I shot some short video clips of my work on a computer screen and popped them into Magisto and let the app work it's magic. The quality of the video is far from good. It's meant for sharing via smart phones and tablets. However, all things considered I can't complain. It's a fun little clip and it promotes the brand. For now it's useful for that reason alone. At this point in time, thinking of the rebrand, I need to get as many people aware of the new branding as possible. That's one of my top priorities right now.
