Karlie Vanessa Sal YouTube Edits

Vasko Obscura: Say hello to Karlie Vanessa Sal. She's a sexy Latina model with a strong attitude. Always so much fun to work with. Here are the photos from the YouTube video I posted. My initial creative direction when starting to work on these photos was to make them overexposed with a lot of chromatic aberration. My intention was to take the visual direction towards an over exposed disposable camera look. I've attached one image down below so you can see what I'm talking about. Initially I was happy with the overexposed/washed out look but being the type of person who is always experimenting I asked myself what the pictures would look like with a multiply layer over top. And BOOM I got this darker grittier looking image with deeper richer tones and a strange unique color tone. I loved the look so I applied the changes to all four images. If you have any questions post them on my YouTube videos in the comments and i'll get back to you.

YouTube Videos

The above video is an Instagram story from a photo shoot I did with VX2 Magazine cover model Karli Vanessa Sal earlier this summer. This is just some behind the scenes fun with a super awesome woman. I truly enjoy working with her. As you can see I take photography seriously but I keep my photo shoots lighthearted and fun. If you ask me photo shoots should be about having fun and expressing yourself and not about having a camera stuck in your face.

Here is a timelapse photo edit of a photo I shot with Karli Vanessa Sal earlier in the summer. In this video I talk about a few aspects of the photo edit process. I also drop a teaser about my trip to the Dominican Republic with a bunch of hot glamour models. I intend to bring all my YouTube subscribers with me through a daily vlog of the trip hopefully I don't get distracted. I'm so excited to get down there and shoot a bunch of sexy content.

80's Retro Revival With Bella Ricchi

Studio V Photography, so here is another amazing set with the one and only Bella Ricchi. We has such an amazing shoot a few months ago great shots are still coming out form our sets. It's like every look we did was a home run. Check her out she's not only a crazy hot Italian babe but she's also a hip-hop artist i'll link her Instagram down below. For this set we had a shiny pink bikini, a gelled light and a creative glamour photographer and we came up with this awesome 80's Retro Revival style shot. I'm loving it. The colours, the feel, the mood, the vibe it's great. For the best viewing experience play a little 80'S retro music in the background and BAM! You'll get it.

Enjoy the shots.

Karliecakes Loves Tacos

Studio V Photography. So I was at the studio editing photos doing my thing when I get a text from Karlie Vanessa Sal. Apparently, driven by a desire for Grand Electric Tacos, she drove to my studio instead of where she was supposed to go. hahaha. oops. So we might as well make the best of it and go get some Grand Electric Tacos!!!!!!!! By the way if you didn't already know the Grand Electric Taco might just be the best in Toronto. The fish taco for me is the best there is. If you're in the Queen West area go give them a try. You might have to wait in line but it's worth it.

Enjoy.

Shooting Alison

I recently had the pleasure of working with Alison Galbraith while she was in town for a fitness competition. It was her last day in Toronto and she had to be at the airport by noon so needless to say we had to be super efficient with our time. But when the pressure is on the shoots are always more fun. I seem to enjoy that get-it-done pressure. We got some fantastic shots which will be submitted for publication. Can't wait to see where they go. Enjoy the vlog.

Here is the teaser shot from the shoot. I'll post the rest of the shots from the shoot up on the blog and vlog once they get published. In the end I decided to leave the photo with the face in the bottom left. I'm really liking the mood and emotion of the shot.

Bella Ricchi In Nine5Four Canada Magazine

Studio V photography. Wooohooo exciting news. My photos of Bella Ricchi are published in Nine5Four Canada Magazine. whaaaaaat!!! Sweet! Ya I'm pretty excited. Bella is a Toronto area Hip-Hop and RnB artist. She was so much fun to work with. Lots of laugh and positivity all around. She's got a killer body and lots of attitude. On a personal level I think it's so awesome to support local talent. I feel like we've really got to support our own and put Toronto on the global map. Enjoy the pictures.

Anni Laurie Wade

Seductive beauty Anni Laurie Wade shot by Studio V Photography. This past summer I had the pleasure of working with Annie twice on a set of magazine submission shoots for VX2 Magazine. This shot is from our second shoot up in the Georgian Bay area. Myself and fellow photographer Paul Venomous had shot all the content we had set out to shoot and the day was coming to a close. I was packing up my gear and getting ready for the trek back to Toronto when I noticed Annie and the other models playing around in the water. Annie was in her black bikini with black sunglasses black hair and striking blue eyes on the blue water. Well, let me just say, that was all the inspiration I needed to pull out my just-packed-away camera again and snap a few quick shots before the sun set. In the moment I was happy that I shot a few extra shots but later when I looked at the pictures I was kicking myself for not taking the time to try and shoot a full submission set. Chalk that one up to a learning experience. ;)

Annie is an interesting character in the way that she is a happy, smiling, bubbly fun to be around kind of chick. That's how I perceived her character, so that was the way I tried to portray her in my photos. But every now and then the jovial expression would disappear and these confident seductive eyes would be gazing back at me. I had no idea she could pull off this look till the end of our shoot. For me this is a game changer. The next time I work with her there's going to be a little less laughter and a lot more fire.

Karli Sal in VX2 Magazine

Studio V Photography. This summer we shot this set of Nine5Four Canada Magazine but that's not where these images ended up. I'm excited to announce that I have a Karli Sal photo set published in VX2 Magazine. I didn't edit these shots, don't judge me. lol. I was so busy last summer the magazine farmed out the edits to get them done. It’s not up to my standards but I’m happy to have the photos published. You can check out some behind the scenes shots from the shoot here. It was an awesome shoot. Nothing like hanging out by the lake with some beautiful models and getting creative on a hot summer day. Click here to see photos form this set that I actually edited.

Laura Christine Clark

I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Laura Christine Clark. Playboy Cyber Girl, home town model and totally awesome chick. We had a blast shooting together for the first time in 3 years. But we picked things up right where we left off way back when. I'll write a better blog post about the shoot later for now enjoy these behind the scenes videos. This is the first video of a series I'm going to do called "Another Day In Paradise" which will be a little bit of a behind the scenes mixed with a day-in-the-life type stuff.

So half way though our photo shoot we decided to go grab a bite at Glory Hole Doughnuts. Laura had never tried them before so I figured it would be fun experience for her. Gotta love that name. We started giggling before we even got there. hahahaha. Glory Hole Doughnut!!!! They are seriously delicious if you get the change to try them go for it.

Instagram Promo

The one lesson I've learned over the years is that marketing is always a good thing. Even if you're doing well getting your logo in front of people is always an important business building endeavour. Look at big companies like Pepsi and Burger King. We all know of those brands yet they still continue rolling out the marketing campaigns to keep their branding at the forefront of people's mind's. That's what it's all about. I've been rolling out the instagram marketing campaigns slow and steady for the past year. Little by little hoping to build up more brand awareness. Now everybody go follow Studio V. lol

Melissa Creative Edits

I've been experimenting in photoshop recently. I wanted to create a new editing style to put in my repertoire. I've been motivated by the fact that the glamour scene is starting to get a bit trite. It's so repetitive. Most models look the same, fake boobs, fake lips, long hair. Most photographers shoot the same, either natural light with a retro vibe or studio light with vibrant colours. My work included. Glam is getting very predictable.

It's in my nature to go left when everyone goes right. So why not try and do something a little different. I've been doing a lot of thinking about how to take things in a new direction. My plan is to add an element of fantasy and create a sexy whimsical vibe to my new work.

Sarah Would Creative

What's better than getting Would once? Getting Would Twice. hahahaha Punny punny. Well not really but I give myself thumbs up for effort. Last week I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Sarah Would. As per usual Sarah arrived at the studio in her bubbly personality and carefree attitude. I cranked up the rock music and we start off with a little catching up. It had been two years since we last worked together and a lot has changed but two years ago feels like it was only yesterday. Sarah opens up her suitcase and clothes explode out onto the couch. As she's showing me the outfits she brought she reaches into her bag and pulls out a tutu. "I don't know why I brought this I just grabbed it and shoved it in my bag" she says to me. In my head i'm thinking we could probably do something cool with that. So we knocked off the concepts we had on our shot list and now it's time to get creative with a the tutu. I wanted the tutu on Sarah's head to create a funky textile afro type shape and lots of character. Sarah put on the tiniest leather jack ever. It barely held in her natural awesomeness'. I used a three hot light setup and a bit of natural light form a partially covered window. My old school 1980's Pioneer SK-31 ghetto blaster also found it's way into the frame. We started shooting and having fun with it. Sarah got into character, I got into the zone and the rest was not important. Other than the noise from the high ISO everything looked awesome. In post production I started getting a little crazy with the cheesewhiz. There were a couple different directions I wanted to take these shots. Ultimately I went with the mirrored image concept and created these. Something different for my portfolio.

Here is a little Quickie video I made of Sarah posing around in her tutu for STUDIO V TV. This was such a fun shoot. I really love the process of letting loose creatively and allowing imagination to take over. And you know what else I really love, the relationships I develop with, I want to call them models but to me they are people like everyone else. Two years with no communication and we reconnect like we were old friends. That's a testament to the type of bond I build with the people I work with.
