Natural Light Portrait of Sarah Scotford

I found this quote got me in the right spot today. "Our brains are wired to find things we’re looking for – if you’re always cynical or waiting for things to go wrong, then your life will reflect that. On the other hand, having a positive outlook on life will bring you joy and provide you with inspiration when you least expect it"

Studio V Photography. I shot this several months ago with the gorgeous Sarah Scotford. She's easily in my top 10 favourite models of all time, ever, in the whole universe. lol. She's such an awesome person and I owe so much to her. She kinda, maybe, sorta' helped me launch my photography brand back in the day. But that's a story for another blog. For this shot Sarah and I were experimenting with natural window light portraits. I've been a studio strobe guy for years but over the past eighteen months or so I've been shifting gears and experimenting with natural light photos. Shooting with natural light has opened up so many more creative possibilities. I'm super stoked to get more experience shooting with just natural light. Having a hot friend that you can call in for a shoot when you get the itch to experiment with lighting is definitely a bonus. I'm really happy with how my natural light stuff is progressing. Cheers to beating that learning curve.

On another note I'm excited to announce that the Bank Robber photo set with Sarah has been picked up by VX2 Magazine and will be published sometime in the next few months. And for those of you who have seen all the photos in the Bank Robber set don't worry, I pulled out the archives and edited a bunch of new photos. Plus all the images have been re-edited in a more modern editing style to make the photos artistically and creatively relevant again. I'm super excited to see them in print.

Oh and May the 4th be with you!!!!! hahaha. ;P

Sarah Balint

Score another one for Studio V Photography. Shooting the beautiful LA based model Sarah Balint. This was an exciting shoot. We got a hold of a beautiful location for our shoot thanks to another photographer. He was house sitting his parents place and invited myself and Sarah to come shoot at the house. These are pictures from the first look we shot. Second look I'm saving for publication submission.

For the first look I got lucky the house had a beautiful living room with a south facing window. So I decided to go with a natural light look. I posed sarah by the window first than on the couch using a speedlight as a fill flash when needed. I'm really happy with the way the images came out and am looking forward to shooting Sarah again sometime. Hopefully she comes back to Toronto again soon.
