Boobafettish Shoot Vlog

Ya so this happened. Studio V Photography, @studiov14 on instagram in case you're wondering, got to work with Boobafettish. Wooohoooo!!! If you know her you've already guessed it. The shoot was totally fun and out of control and full of laughs and just amazing. I love working with these wild girls. They have a great energy about them and I seem to get charged up on it. After an hour of shooting the breeze and eating doughnuts we finally got down to shooting. The shots came out amazing I'm really happy with them. Hopefully we get to shoot again soon. Below are a few of the shots form the shoot.

May the 4th be with you!

Give me a follow on instagram @studiov14 to see some behind the scenes stores.

Some teaser shots from the shot.

Sara Di's Golden Shoot

Studio V Photography. So a few months ago I met Sara Di at a group meditation and we had that click. I always feel very grateful when I meet someone who becomes an instant friend. It's such a cool experience. So Sara is starting a new business venture and wanted to do a photo shoot to get some images she can use to brand herself. She wanted to be covered in gold and striking powerful poses and this is what we did. This was my first experience shooting someone in body paint. It definitely was a learning experience from the paint side of things. The paint would peal or stretch then  ripple in other places and when we applied paint to exposed skin it would get clumpy when it mixed with the old paint. It was a challenge. Next time I think a professional body painter with experience would be the right call. :) With a little photoshop I was able to clean up the paint and make it look smooth. Sara loved the shots and it the client is happy i'm happy. This is a concept I would love to revisit one day.

Jenna Medina Photo Shoot + Interview

Studio V Photography. So recently I had the pleasure of working with model, makeup artist, personal trainer and totally awesome person Jenna Medina. Oh and I also have to put fastest makeup artist ever in that list too. She can do a do a face with a smoky eye in 15 minutes. She's blazing fast! She booked me for a shoot a few days before her bikini competition to capture some shots of her body. It's not easy to stay that lean and I can't imagine anybody wanting to stay that lean with all that delicious food around lol. Jenna had a "Lemonade" idea she wanted too shoot (The picture if featured below) along with a few other outfits. As you can see in the vlog we had a lot of shooting. After the shoot I asked Jenna if I could do a quick off-the-cuff interview with her for the vlog. It was a fun test run to feel out the interview-vlog idea I had in my head. I think i'll make it a thing going forward. I'll interview ppl in the industry to share what they have to say with all of you guys.

Enjoy the videos.

VX2 Magazine Shoot

Here is a little behind the scenes vlog of myself, Studio V Photography, shooting some content for VX2 Magazine. It was an awesome shoot. I finally got to work with Amber Emery. She's awesome. I can't wait to work with her again. Emily was also a blast to shoot. Overall I'm really happy with how the shoot went. We got some great content for the magazine. Can't wait to see these photos in print. Enjoy the video.
Cheers.

A Fun Day at The Studio

Who says photo shoots have to be serious. I much prefer having fun and letting the creativity flow when I'm shooing. So Ashley Marie was coming up to Toronto and booked a shoot with your truly. Yup when that Studio V Photography inbox dinged with an email from Ashley I was totally excited. I had worked with her back in 2010 in the Dominican Republic and we had a blast so the idea of working with her again really got me excited. Blow is a link to the Vlog from our shoot. Makeup by Monica Kalra

Enjoy.

Karliecakes Loves Tacos

Studio V Photography. So I was at the studio editing photos doing my thing when I get a text from Karlie Vanessa Sal. Apparently, driven by a desire for Grand Electric Tacos, she drove to my studio instead of where she was supposed to go. hahaha. oops. So we might as well make the best of it and go get some Grand Electric Tacos!!!!!!!! By the way if you didn't already know the Grand Electric Taco might just be the best in Toronto. The fish taco for me is the best there is. If you're in the Queen West area go give them a try. You might have to wait in line but it's worth it.

Enjoy.

Packing Gear For Sand Banks Shoot

Studio V Photography. OK here is a vlog for all you gear heads. Come along with me as I pack my camera gear for a beach shoot. I'm about to head out to Sand Banks Provincial Park to shoot some models for potential magazine features. In this vlog I talk about what equipment I bring with me on this shoot and why I bring it. I cover everything from model releases and lenses to sunscreen and scrims.

Enjoy.

Bella Ricchi Teaser

Studio V Photography. Here's a little teaser video form a shoot I did with Toronto Hip-Hop artist Bella Ricchi. For those of you who follow my vlog or blog you might remember her form a shoot I did a little white back where we shoot a pictorial for Nin5Four Canada Magazine. That was a fun set. So we got together again and shoot some social media content to pump out there over the next few months. I have a full vlog from the shoot coming soon but for now here is a little time laps teaser video of us doing out thing.

Enjoy, and please subscribe. I'm trying to build up my channel.

Shooting Dita

Studio V Photography. Last summer I met Dita and there was something very interesting about her. I couldn't put my finger on it but I knew I wanted to shoot her again. Oh by the way those images from our first shoot at Indian Head Beach haven't been put out on social media yet because they are going to be featured in a magazine so I can't show them off yet. BUUTTTTTT they look amazing! I love them. Hopefully in a month or so they'll get published and I can show them off but for now you have these.

This vlog and photos are from our third shoot together. We did a few different looks. The photos form this shoot were for fun so it was a nice change. I didn't have to worry about how the images would fit into the layout of a magazine. I could just shoot as I wanted.

My favorite shots from the shoot are the ones of Dita sitting on a vintage chair with a cigar. I setup the lights behind her as to illuminate the cigar smoke and I also added a star filter to my lens to create light streaks running across the image. I was super happy with the way the shots came out.

Test Shoot with Sarah Scotford & Stuff

Studio V Photography. A little vlog of me doing a test shoot with Sarah Scotford for a t-short company in New York. They wanted me to shoot some more look book images for them and are scouting for a new model. I end the vlog with a little talk about some a bit of a business situation I had to deal with. Enjoy the vlog and if you like it please subscribe.

Aneesa Badshaw

Studio V Photography. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Aneesa Badshaw. The editor of VX2 Magazine had wanted to shoot a few beach concepts with her and so we went out and made the shoot happen. It was a fun day of shooting. I can't show any pictures yet as they are going to publication but if you want to see what happened at the shoot give the vlog a watch and if you liked it please subscribe to the channel.

Editing Photos of Asha for Magazine Submission

Studio V Photography Toronto Glamour Photographer
Last summer I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Asha Urielle. If you guys were following my SnapChat at the time you'd remember the story for sure. It was a fun day of shooting and I think I got a little punch-drunk off the sun. We shot at a beach just outside of Toronto. The day started off nice and foggy which opened up some creative possibilities that had me pretty excited. But it wasn't long before the sun came out and I had to rethink my game plan. The angle of the sun plays such a huge role in determining how and where you're going to pose the model. Overall it was a great experience. Good times all around for everyone involved. The images will be featured in an upcoming issue of VX2 Magazine. So stay tuned for that. Watch the vlogs below and give them a thumbs up. It really helps to get those thumbs on those videos. Thanks.

If you want to find me on SnapChat look up @studiov14

Shooting Alison

I recently had the pleasure of working with Alison Galbraith while she was in town for a fitness competition. It was her last day in Toronto and she had to be at the airport by noon so needless to say we had to be super efficient with our time. But when the pressure is on the shoots are always more fun. I seem to enjoy that get-it-done pressure. We got some fantastic shots which will be submitted for publication. Can't wait to see where they go. Enjoy the vlog.

Here is the teaser shot from the shoot. I'll post the rest of the shots from the shoot up on the blog and vlog once they get published. In the end I decided to leave the photo with the face in the bottom left. I'm really liking the mood and emotion of the shot.

So I might have started vlogging

Soooooo, I kinda, maybe, sorta', possibly could have, at some point, started vlogginggggg. If you look real close, it looks like some vlogs have popped up on my Youtube channel.

I've been toying around with different ideas for the Studio V Photography YouTube channel and perhaps i'm still experimenting with ideas. I wrote down all the things I want to achieve with my YouTube channel and out of all the ideas i've experimented with vlogging appears to be the one. The idea of vlogging wasn't even on my radar till recently. Now I'm really into the idea. It's going to be a fun experience sharing my photography world with all of you. I'm really looking forward to the learning curve. I know almost nothing about video editing so my videos are probably gonna be super basic for the time being. But don't worry, I've got a good eye and it's only a matter of time before my technical skills catch up to my creative vision.

In my first vlog I open up about why my photography business has started slowing down. 2013 to 2015 had been a really trying period in the life and times of me. A lot of different factors all came together to create a perfect storm that took the wind out of my sails. Rather than being down about things I've decided that this is the perfect opportunity to start vlogging. I'm going to bring all of you with me on my journey to rebuild my brands to where they were in 2012 and then take them up to the next level. I have the knowledge, I know how to run a prosperous business, I have the motivation, I have everything I need to be successful again. So I invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel and come with me as I rebuild my business and have a ton of exciting adventures along the way. As of today I have 184 subscribers. I want to grow that number to 1000 by the end of the year.

Here is a link to my Youtube Channel. Go check it out and hit the subscribe button. I'd really appreciate it.

Megan Klassen and the G7X

Studio V Photography. So I just picked up a Canon G7X Mark II the other day and I wanted to test it out. I've really gotten excited about the idea of vlogging so that I can share all the fun moments that happen at my photo shoots. I really have no idea what I'm doing at this point with respect to creating vloggs but just as I did with photography, I figure the best thing to do is jump in with both feet, make my mistakes and learn as I go. The fear of failing holds us back so much. I figure failing is part of the learning experience and the experience is what it's all about. . . . So anyway. . . I wanted to test out the new video camera and called Megan Klassen in for a shoot. I met her the year before at an even for Arsenic Magazine and wanted to work with her so that's what I did.

We had a good click right from the get-go and the shoot was a fun experience. It was a little different for me to think in terms of creating photo content then at the same time think about creating video content as well. It was a bit of a challenge but I'm sure I'll get better at it as I do it more often.

Below I have two vlogs. The first one is a behind the scenes vlog from my shoot with Megan and the second vlog is me doing a time laps edits with Megan's photos.

Enjoy and please subscribe to the youtube channel.

Selfie Shots with Laura Christine Clark

So we were wrapping up our laugh-a-thon, i mean photo shoot. Always a good time when Studio V Photography and Laura Christine Clark get together. I had a simple concept I wanted to shoot with Laura. Black pantyhose and bra on a hardwood floor. I wanted to pop the texture of the floor and contrast that with the smoothness of her skin and finish the image off with a blueish tone. Something beautiful sexy and slightly abstract with the finishing touches. I've really been pushing myself to try doing things a little differently. It never hurts to experiment. I'm liking the results but I know I can do better. The lighting is too straight on. I want to create more of a light to dark gradient across the body next time. Some areas of the wood came out too dark so I want to revisit the workflow and I know the pose can be improved. So i'm going to call this one a work in progress.

Studio V Photography Laura Christine Clark Sexy Model

After I got a few shots of Laura on the floor I gave her the camera and a mirror so she could shoot some shots of herself. The idea just came to me out of the blue and I wanted to follow it through because I was curious to see what it would lead too. I pulled out my phone and shot this video of her shooting herself. I wanted some content for Studio V TV. My YouTube channel.

Conclusion: The camera is better utilized in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. lol. Although Laura did have some beautiful unfocused shots. I pretty much always have my camera set to centerpoint focus and I find it hard to explain to people that you can depress the shutter button half way to hold focus and recompose the image. It's a little more complicated than point and shoot.
